Veer Offense Coaching Videos: Inside & Outside Veer Installs

Inside veer, outside veer, midline and option reads with the drills that teach them.

18 titles

The veer is the purest form of option football, and the veer offense coaching videos here show how to teach it so the quarterback's reads become automatic. Coaches install the inside veer, outside veer and midline, explain the blocking rules that leave the read key unblocked, and show the mesh, pitch and perimeter drills that build timing.

You will also find play-action and quick-passing concepts that punish defenders who cheat, plus adjustments for odd and even fronts. These titles suit split-back, I-formation and flexbone programs alike.

Veer Offense Coaching Videos: Inside & Outside Veer Installs: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between inside veer and outside veer?
Inside veer reads the first defender past the tackle, with the dive back hitting the B gap. Outside veer blocks down further and reads the next defender out, sending the dive back off tackle. The installs here teach both with the blocking rules and reads side by side.
How long does it take to install the veer?
Coaches here typically install the base inside veer in the first week and add outside veer, midline and play-action over the following weeks, and they show the practice progression they use.
Does my quarterback need to be a great athlete?
The veer rewards a decisive quarterback more than a fast one. The drills teach the mesh and the pitch relationship so the decision, not the speed, carries the play.
Do these videos cover option passing?
Yes. Veer pass, play-action off the dive fake and quick-game concepts are included in several installs.
Can I stream these or do I need the DVD?
Most veer titles stream instantly after purchase, and many are also sold on DVD or as a download. Check the format badge on each listing.
Is the veer a good fit for a youth or small-school program?
Yes. It needs few formations, uses angle blocking that helps smaller linemen, and gives a run-first team a way to attack the whole field. Coaches note how they simplify the reads for younger quarterbacks.
