About this video

The off-season is where a football team gets built, and Charleston Southern head strength and conditioning coach Toby Jacobi maps out the whole thing here. This session covers a complete off-season football strength and conditioning program, including a three-month progression that takes your players from January through March and the speed and agility work that runs alongside the lifting.

What you'll learn

  • The philosophy and goals that make an off-season S & C program work rather than just fill time
  • A January-to-March training progression with the specific lifts laid out week to week
  • A speed and agility program that runs with the lifting for every athlete on the roster
  • A four-day-a-week schedule covering the first quarter of the calendar
  • How to write the program for players at different strength levels so the weak and the strong both progress
  • Pre-hab work built into the program to cut down on injuries before contact starts

Who it's for

Written for high school and college strength coaches, head coaches and coordinators who own the off-season calendar. Programs without a full-time strength staff will find the progression easy to lift straight into their own weight room.
