About this video

Pressure is where a high school 4-2-5 can get itself in trouble, and Coach Justin Conyers spends this session making sure it does not. He builds the zone blitz package out of the Hokie Weak formation, then names every pressure — Seahawk, Miami, Alaska and Bama families — and assigns individual responsibility on each so the coverage behind the blitz is never an afterthought. The man blitz half runs on a clean terminology system: numbers for strong side pressure, letters for weak side, gap responsibility above all.

Frequently asked questions

What blitzes are installed here?

Zone blitzes from the Hokie Weak formation in four families — Seahawk, Miami, Alaska and Bama, including cube, deuce and twist versions and trips adjustments — and a man blitz package from the front, the stack and both safeties.

Who is this session aimed at?

Defensive coordinators and secondary coaches at the high school level running the 4-2-5, though anyone playing a four-down front with five defensive backs can lift the terminology system and the safety pressures.

How do I watch after purchase?

Instantly. The $19.95 purchase adds the video to your AFM Videos account for streaming on any device, and you can rewatch it as many times as you want, permanently. The 1-Year All Access membership ($99/year) streams this and every other AFM title.

How does he teach the blitzes to players?

Coach Conyers includes drills specifically for installing zone and man pressure, and he emphasizes the triangle technique and the priority of switching coverages so the back end stays correct while the front is moving.
