About this video

Coach Ron Aydelott of Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee analyzes the mid-line option, the bread and butter of his Wing-Bone option game. Originated in Texas on the idea of a play that is easy to read but hard to block, the mid-line works because its misdirection forces the defense to play assignment football, and it can be run to either the spread side or the tight end side against virtually any front. "By implementing the mid-line option, you force the defense to play assignment football," he says.
