About this video

Since Foothill High School installed the Unstoppable Sweep, the play has averaged more than 11 yards per carry and 1,000 yards a year. This is not the traditional fly sweep: Coach Bryon Hamilton's Unstoppable Fly Sweep is run by the quarterback out of a single-back set with the fullback moved out to a wing, and it is the cornerstone of the 4,000-yard Shotgun Zone Fly Offense. In this coaching video he shows how the play evolved, who does what, and how it is blocked against every front.

What you'll learn

  • The evolution from the traditional fly sweep to the Unstoppable Fly Sweep in the Shotgun Zone Fly Offense.
  • Why the Unstoppable version puts the ball in the quarterback's hands from a single-back set with the fullback flexed to a wing.
  • Player-by-player responsibilities on the sweep.
  • Blocking rules and assignments against odd and even fronts, diagrammed.
  • The G-Fly Sweep, Lead Sweep, Empty Sweep and Closed Flex Sweep variations, each explained, diagrammed and analyzed on game film.
