About this video
Dale Weiner's Spin offense is the misdirection attack American Football Monthly called "the greatest offense you've never heard of." Built on deception and power, the Spin takes its name from the quarterback pivoting on every snap, and it pairs Wing-T style pattern meshes between the QB and three running backs with a balanced double slot set that lets a less talented team beat stronger opponents. This clinic session is the starting point for any coach who wants to run it.
What you'll learn
- Why the Spin offense works: misdirection, deception and power from a double slot set
- Quarterback technique in the Spin, including the pivot on every snap
- Position-by-position responsibilities for the quarterback and the three running backs
- Cadence and how the QB and backs mesh on similar patterns
- The base formation plus Double Wing, Wing End Over, Trips and Nasty Slot
- How the double slot set gives you equal balance to both sides of the ball
Who it's for
High school head coaches and offensive coordinators looking for a misdirection offense that levels the field against bigger, faster teams; Wing-T coaches will recognize much of the scheme and pick it up quickly.
