About this video
Ray "Sugar Bear" Hamilton spent his career inside defensive line play, and in this session he hands over the techniques and drills behind a consistent pass rush. Hamilton walks through the fundamentals a defensive lineman lives on - stance, get off, hand use and pad level - then puts them into drill work you can run at practice. His position is that these fundamentals do not change from Pop Warner to high school to college to the NFL; they simply have to be worked on constantly.

Frequently asked questions
What is taught in this video?
Pass rush fundamentals for defensive linemen - stance, get off, hand technique and pad level - plus three drills that build them: the Close the Gap Drill, the Variant/Tennis Ball Drill and the Clear Your Hips Drill.
Is it too advanced for high school players?
No. Hamilton's own point is that D-line fundamentals are the same from Pop Warner through the NFL - good feet, good hands, good pad level - so high school and youth linemen can work the same progression.
