About this video
Andover High School in Kansas fielded an offensive line that averaged 190 pounds and walked into most games considerably smaller than the defense across from them. The Andover offense still averaged 300 yards of total offense and 30 points a game, and the power running game was the engine. In this coaching video, head coach Mike Lee opens up the core of the Red's Wing power game and teaches three plays that fit into almost any offense.
What you'll learn
- Why the Andover power run game is effective and efficient even with an undersized offensive line.
- How the fundamentals of one play carry into two others and then set up the counter game.
- The execution of three core power plays: 36 G, 38 G Toss and 4 Iso.
- Blocking assignments and blocking rules for each of the three plays.
- Individual player responsibilities on every power concept.
- How stacking complementary plays puts extra stress on a defense.
Who it's for
High school and youth offensive coordinators, offensive line coaches and head coaches who want a compact, teachable power package instead of a thick playbook.

Frequently asked questions
Which plays are taught?
Three: 36 G, 38 G Toss and 4 Iso. Coach Lee walks through blocking assignments, rules and individual responsibilities on each one, then shows how the three blend together and set up the Red's Wing counter plays.
Will this work if my line is small?
That is the whole premise. The Andover line averaged 190 pounds and the scheme was designed around blocking angles rather than raw size, which makes it a fit for high school and youth programs that are regularly outweighed up front.
