About this video
The shotgun run game is a major piece of Matt Dickmann's multiple motion offense at Seminole Ridge High School, and this session is devoted entirely to it. Coach Dickmann shows the jet and rocket motion plays from the gun, how the motion forces a defense to back out, and how a pulling playside guard and an extra edge blocker turn a spread look into a downhill running attack.

Frequently asked questions
What does the shotgun run game session cover?
Jet and rocket motion plays from the gun - jet sweep, rocket sweep, the slide belly series and shotgun misdirection - with guard pulls, fullback edge blocking and diagrams against odd and even fronts.
Do I need to run the full multiple motion offense?
No. The shotgun plays can be added to any gun-based offense. High school and youth coaches already in the shotgun can install the jet and rocket motion package without changing their base.

Why does the motion matter so much?
Coach Dickmann explains that the motion is what makes the defense back out and widen; once it does, the guard pull and the fullback on the edge give the offense the numbers it needs inside.
